Tech Workwear Challenges

New legislation in the EU and U.S. makes it a criminal offence for employers not to provide certified workwear (link to the importance of certification page) for their employees.

This adds to the challenges facing suppliers of technical workwear. Most of these challenges are in turn passed on to distributors and workwear buyers, especially if the customer wants the workwear customized as summarised below:

Workwear Supplier Challenges

Impact on Workwear Buyers

Manufacturing processes geared to high volumes (>500 unit batches) Large order but prefer small batches (there is a growing move towards framework tenders)
Certification is a slow (weeks) and expensive process Garments cannot be used until certified
Customization means distracting product design team Have to wait for access to designers
Reorders difficult, 3-4 month lead times on customised orders Alternative of post-garment customization less attractive because of legislation

Brandvis provides an automated process that delivers small batches of cost effective customized technical workwear in 4 weeks, fully certified against safety standards and without infringing on the workwear brand’s design team.
